Picture Gallery--a selection
This is the tower clock mechanism in the Ringing Room. It was built in 1885 by William Potts & Sons of Leeds. The same firm repaired the clock and restored the striking and chiming gear at a cost of £15-10s-0d in October 1899. | |
A closer view of the clock mechanism. The clock is now wound electrically and it chimes the quarters, half hours and hours on the bells by means of automatic hammers.
