What a lovely surprise when looking up something rather different with a Northallerton connection! So it's a hello to David T and family from a fellow pupil and classmate at NGS in the 1960s. I note that as ever bellringing has family roots - here in Saffron Walden it was the Pitstow family from the turn of the century to the 1950s. There's still an excellent peal of 12 bells to be rung, though the afficionados say 10 sound better than 12.

I was born in Northallerton and my grandfather George Braningham used to be gardener at your Church. I have a lovely photo of him sweeping by the gates. Does anyone remember him ? ##### ##### I'll ask those who've been in the town longer than I.

Great website - well done! Hope to visit this Thursday evening; will be travelling from Isle of Wight on Wednesday night. Will endeavour to bring my daughter and son-in law too; they live in Northallerton now. Delighted to see my pictures of the recent 12bell contest published here. I have fond memories of ringing with you all during my time in Northallerton in the 1990's when I gained valuable experience and significantly improved my ringing technique. It was a pleasure to meet you all again at Worcester. Wishing you all continuing pleasure from our chosen passtime.

Excellent website. Think you must have covered all the aspects anyone would want to know AND under a good index. Just LOVE the bellringing demo. Seems you are all a most accomplished band up there. Look forward to seeing the group over here in June.
